Celebrate Independence Day In Fort Lauderdale This July
Mon, Jul 15, 2019
The 4th of July is a celebration of American freedom and independence. On this day, people all across the country show their love and appreciation for the red, white, and blue. The flag is flown proudly, and individuals everywhere gather at backyard barbecues or go to family venues to watch fireworks.
However, this is only one of the ways people celebrate Independence Day. While it is perhaps ideal for families who need kid-friendly celebration options, it is not ideal for everyone. Why not change things up a little this year? Here are a few ways you can add a special twist to your celebration.
Head for the Tropics
At this time of the year, virtually every tourist spot in America worth visiting is packed with thousands of people with the very same idea you had. However, the same is far from true for many tropical regions who mostly rely on the colder months to attract visitors.
That means lower vacation prices for you and your group. While celebrating overseas may not sound like your ideal way of celebrating, countries who are used to welcoming American tourists will usually have celebration plans at the ready for you.
Take a Hike
The people who aren’t barbecuing in their backyards will most likely be on the beaches near Miami. Rather than fight for a place to set down your towel and pitch your umbrella, it may be better to take advantage of other outdoor activities. Lucky for you, South Florida has some of the most amazing hiking and biking trails in the state. Here are just a few you may want to consider:
Amelia Earhart Park
Oleta River State Park
Everglades National Park
Florida is home to diverse and active wildlife, so be sure to take a partner with you. You will also need plenty of water and sunscreen. Bringing a small First Aid kit with basic items isn’t a bad idea either.
Volunteer To Clean Up the Mess
Instead of chilling at the beach somewhere with a rum and coke, you can get your hands dirty for a good cause. In cities surrounding Miami, non-profits may organize beach cleanups either on or immediately following July 4th as beaches are often littered terribly during big holidays. If you love the idea of doing some good for the environment, then this may be a good activity for not just you, but with family and friends.
Spend the Night at Sway Night Club
After volunteering, hiking, or family barbecues, head out on the town for all-night dancing, some drinks and socializing. No matter how you spend your day in South Florida, Sway Nightclub is a great way to unwind and let loose. On holidays especially, you have a pretty good chance of running into some of the most famous faces in sports and entertainment.
